A Few Interesting Posts

I was looking around the Internet this dinnertime and I discovered two extremely interesting posts from Coroflot's Creative Seeds Blog.

The first post is about a designer's resilience, and a very interesting case study. Excerpt below:
"This brings attention to one of the most crucial traits a successful creative professional needs to have these days that hardly anyone talks about: resilience. The creative field is a brutal one, in which jobs are lost frequently, often without any correlation to competence. There's a crucial truth to creative employment that makes this happen; a truth that very few of us are comfortable acknowledging: our jobs are dispensable.
The Bemused Optimism of the Dispensable

The second post is an interview with Yang Kim, Vice President / Creative Director of People Design. The interview mainly centres around what Yang looks for in a potential employee.
"If they start asking about who they will be working for, what types of projects they would be working on, when will they get a project of their own to work on, or what will their title be, then we know that they might not have the right attitude.

This is what we have been discussing in John's lessons. It's something i haven't really thought about as much as I should have. I came on this course to be an animator and learn flash + website skills.

My choice has really changed now as this course has had hardly anything to do with animation so far. Still unsure of the ideal role but I have a few in mind that I should think about more carefully.
